Mrs Garnet’s Angel by Sally Vickers

I really enjoyed Mrs Garnet’s Angel by Sally Vickers book. The characters are delightful and very real. You will love Miss Garnet and Venice.

Miss Julia Garnet, is a very cautious elderly lady who was a history school teacher and now recently retired.

Her flat mate, Harriet dies 2 days after they both retired, and their elderly cat disappears. Julia is shattered by these events and decides on a whim to rent an apartment in Venice for 6 months.

She has thrown caution to the wind and sets off on her journey. In Venice she learns to make friends, and along the way discovers art, love and mystery.

I highly recommend this book.
