Conference Spaces | Level 1

Level 1 of the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts provides the ultimate space for small to medium conferences.

The Henry Carmichael Theatre, is a tierd theatre that can accommodate up to 140 guests. With a small stage and in-house audio-visual equipment available, you can host presentations and AGMs and lectures with ease.

Outside the Theatre, the Level 1 Foyer space is ideal for registrations and refreshments.

In addition, and located on the same level, our flexible meeting rooms are perfect for break out spaces. The meeting rooms are all recently refurbished with fresh interiors, state-of-the-art technology, and new modern furniture. The flexible meeting rooms can be divided with the use of our new sound-proofed bi-fold walls from one to four spaces.

If you need more break out spaces, we have a Boardroom and further space at the Tom Keneally Centre available.

Conference Catering

Conference Catering

When you host your conference at SMSA you have the flexibility of using our in-house catering service or you can bring your own.

Our catering service is flexible and affordable, with options for breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon teas, along with refreshments, and tea and coffee.

Should you wish to arrange your own catering provider, there is a commercial kitchen available on Level 1, available for use in conjunction with conference venue hire.

Audio Visual and Meeting Room Equipment

All of SMSA’s meeting rooms are equipped with audio visual technology and equipment such as whiteboards. The Henry Carmichael Theatre is equipped with AV equipment suitable for presentations, screenings and conferences.
