Notice of Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts will be held in the Henry Carmichael Theatre, Level 1, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney on Tuesday 10 March 2026, commencing at 12:30pm.

Business of the Meeting

1. To re-elect three (3) Directors.

2. To receive the Annual Report and Audited Accounts for the year ending 31 December 2025.

3. Confirmation of the Minutes of the previous AGM held on 11 March 2025.

4. Appointment of Auditors for the 2026 financial accounting period.

Members wishing to bring any business before the Annual General Meeting must give notice in writing of that business to the Chief Executive Officer by the close of business, Tuesday 24 February 2026, the notice must be signed by not less than three members qualified to vote.

Nominations for the election of the three (3) directors will open on Monday 23 February 2026 at 12:30pm and close on Friday 27 February 2026 at 5:00pm.

In accordance with the By-laws, polling will commence on Tuesday 3 March 2026 at 12:00pm and will close on Tuesday 10 March 2026 at 12:45pm, being 15 minutes after the scheduled commencement time of the AGM.

To Apply for a Position on the Board

To apply for a board position at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts (SMSA), you must submit your application to the Chief Executive Officer by Tuesday 17 February 2026.

Requirements: A cover letter, a professional resume, and a completed Nomination Form (available via email).

Application Outcomes

Successful applicants will receive an email formally inviting you to the next stage. This email will contain details about the interview date and panel, and the format will be in-person.
