Wayfaring Stranger by James Lee Burke

Wayfaring Stranger by James Lee Burke is set in the Midwest and deep South of the USA, chronicaling the profound friendship between two intense men and the life events that weld them as family.

Full of intrigue and mysteries. although primarily categorised as a novel, Wayfaring Stranger is suspenseful, and full of unresolved tensions. Death, disease, betrayals, subterfuge, malice, bravery and resilience pace through this remarkable read.

I have read James Lee Burke before, and undoubtedly will do so again. If you can get over any lingering American phobia, this is a classic.

If this was the last book I ever read, I would die with plenty to reflect on.

Highly, absolutely, highly recommended!
