Killer Heat by Brenda Novak

Published in 2010, Killer Heat by Brenda Novak follows a sassy female P.I. through Arizona, who is inquiring into the disappearance of a missing woman. Terrified after finding a decomposing female body hidden under a tarp in an untidy, rural salvage yard, she goes to the local police for help. This begins a series of confusing misadventures .

Running alongside the thrilling mystery crime is a poignant love story, modern in its plot, but completely believable in today’s world of passionate, hasty encounters.

If you enjoy fast and furious, this easy to hold paperback is for you. Although there is no real depth or profound messages to discover in Killer Heat, it is a satisfying read. The suspense is maintained right up to the last few pages when an unexpected twist changes everything.

Brenda Novak also has an interesting story. After discovering her childcare provider had drugged her children, she stopped all work outside the home and began intense study in order to master the art of novel writing. Her first book sold immediately, reflecting her skills as a highly entertaining writer.
